Welcome to the Charleston Women in
International Trade (CWIT). Founded in 2001 as a
chapter of the international Organization of Women in
International Trade, CWIT is a nonprofit professional
organization. Our mission is to
enhance the status of women who work in the field of
international trade by presenting educational and
networking opportunities to benefit our common goals.
![]() CWIT's parent organization, the 2000-member worldwide Organization of Women in International Trade (OWIT), shares its goals with the Charleston chapter. OWIT brings to the South Carolina group links to women and men in all parts of the world who are actively pursuing the advancement of women in international trade professions and who seek to educate world leaders on the importance of women's issues to the betterment of the world's economy and stability. OWIT provides its members with access to its international job bank, speaker's bureau, statistical and information sources, and networking across borders. For details, check out OWIT at www.owit.org/index.asp. The Charleston chapter seeks to bring OWIT's worldwide contacts and international resources to its CWIT membership. ![]() CWIT membership is not restricted by gender or current job description: men, students and retirees are welcome to apply.
